The Russian Ka-52 helicopter downed near Gostomel was probably flown by the squadron commander of the 319th Separate Helicopter Regiment from the Primorsky Krai of the Russian Federation, Airat Safargaleyev.

Journalists drew their attention to the helicopter pilot’s helmet, which Ukrainian security forces had found near the downed Ka-52 helicopter. The helmet of the pilot was marked with the surname — «Safargaleev».

«Slidstvo.Info» have tried to figure out who with such a surname may be related to the Russian army, in particular to the Russian Air and Space Forces.

The official website of the government of the Primorsky Krai of the Russian Federation published some news concerning the awarding of Russian officers in 2019. In particular, it was related to the awarding of the squadron commander of the Russian military unit 13984 Airat Safargaleyev.

Journalists found the man on the Russian social network called Odnoklassniki. Airat Safargaleyev is 45 years old man, who lives in the village of Chernihivka, Primorsky Krai, where the military airfield is located. He graduated from the Syzran Higher Military Aviation School of Pilots.

Judging by his profile and photos, Safargaleyev has been serving the Russian Air Force for several decades, namely in helicopter squadrons. He is also a member of a closed group of Russian military “Helicopter pilots”.

It is noteworthy that the Russian 319th Separate Helicopter Regiment in Chernihiv (military unit 13984) is armed with the latest Ka-52 military helicopters, which were downed near Gostomel.

It is unknown at this time whether the Ukrainian military and police detained the pilot of the downed helicopter or whether he is still hiding in the Kyiv region. «Slidstvo.Info» finds out the details.
