The owner of a quarter of Amic Ukraine, the company that operates a network of gas stations, recorded a video message in which he accused Slidstvo.Info journalists of failing to contact him. The newsroom insists that they sent the request in advance, received a letter with his responses, signed by him, and quoted the document in their video.
Lawyer Johannes Klezl-Norberg, a shareholder in Amic Ukraine, posted the video on the Amic Energy Facebook page on June 24, 2026. In it, the Austrian expressed surprise that investigators had not reached out for comment.
“I was surprised when I learned that journalists were writing and publishing about me, because none of those journalists ever contacted me. It could have been easily done by sending me an email or calling,” the lawyer said.
At the same time, the Slidstvo.Info newsroom, which published a joint investigation with the Anti-Corruption Action Center, sent questions in advance and received a response from Johannes Klezl-Norberg. The letter, addressed to the head of the journalistic investigations agency Slidstvo.Info, Anna Babinets, and signed by Klezl-Norberg, is dated June 12, 2026. Journalists used the main points from the document in their reporting.

Investigators established that Johannes Klezl-Norberg, who owns 25.1% of the foreign investment enterprise Amic Ukraine, has managed a company belonging to Lukoil’s top manager Sergey Zenkin for more than 10 years. The Austrian registered the Russian’s business at his own address. Journalists found that the lawyer’s home serves not only as a residence but also as a hub for servicing the assets of top managers at the Russian fuel company Lukoil.
